TICKETS FROM £25The global phenomenon returns. A new experience every night.
What happens when no one knows what comes next?
Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour’s internationally acclaimed theatrical experiment White Rabbit Red Rabbit returns to London for its 15th anniversary, with a rotating cast including David Tennant, Riz Ahmed and Kathryn Hunter, and more to be announced.
Each performance begins with a sealed envelope. Inside is a script the actor has never seen, performed live without rehearsal or a director. What follows is shaped entirely by how that performer steps into the unknown - creating a singular, unrepeatable experience each night.
Since its premiere in 2011, the play has been translated into more than 30 languages and performed over 3,000 times by some of the most celebrated names in theatre and film. Fifteen years on, its questions feel as urgent as ever, as it returns to the West End alongside the launch of There & Then, the new theatre company behind the production, created by Soleimanpour and director Omar Elerian.
Written while Soleimanpour was forbidden to leave Iran, the play distils the experience of an entire generation into something bold, humane and original. By turns playful, poignant and unsettling, it explores obedience, choice and freedom of expression - and the fragile contract between performer and audience.
White Rabbit Red Rabbit is a Then & There production in association with Nica Burns.
Casting by Matilda James.
Creative by Louise Richardson for Margo Jones Agency. Press & Publicity by Bread & Butter PR.
